Mixed Blood Wins Big at 2007 IVEY Awards
At the third annual IVEY Awards, held September 24th at the State Theatre in Minneapolis, Mixed Blood was recognized with an IVEY Award for its world premiere production, Messy Utopia! Additionally, Thomas W. Jones II received an IVEY Award for his work on Yellowman, and Kate Sutton-Johnson, a set designer whose work is frequently seen at Mixed Blood won the Emerging Artist Award!
Vestibular Sense Playwright Wins Award!
Ken LaZebnik won the American Theatre Critics Association/Elizabeth Osborn Prize for emerging playwright for Vestibular Sense.
Vestibular Sense Finalist for Best New Play!
Ken LaZebnik's Vestibular Sense, produced by Mixed Blood in November 2006, was a finalist for the American Theatre Critics Association's annual ATCA/Steinberg New Play Award, honoring new scripts produced outside New York City.
Mixed Blood Receives MetLife Foundation Award for Arts Access
Mixed Blood was presented with the "Arts Presenters/MetLife Foundation Award for Arts Access" at the Association of Performing Arts Presenters 2007 Awards Ceremony and Luncheon, held January 19-23 in New York City. The award honors an organization that has been consistently dedicated to the implementation and evolution of its arts access strategies by the creation of programming or an organization-wide tool or practice that has been developed as a response to new technologies, recent demographic changes to a community or an ongoing dialogue with audiences concerned with arts access.
